Visitor Services

What are the visiting hours?

Visitors, including children and pets, are welcome at any time, except during the patients’ rest period between 1-3 pm when visits are at the discretion of the nurse in charge.

Visitors are welcome at any time to see nursing home patients in St Augustine's at Moreton.

Are relatives allowed to stay the night if a patient’s condition is critical?

Close family can stay overnight by the bedside.  A comfortable overnight facility on one of the floors is also available.

Is there anywhere that visitors can buy refreshments or gifts?

Our Coffee Shop, run by volunteers, is open between 9am - 8pm. It offers a service to everyone in the Hospice, providing a range of tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, biscuits and cakes.  We are proud to stop Fair Trade products.  Outside the Coffee Shop hours, tea and coffe will be available from the Nursing Staff or from the coffee machine in Reception.  We are also happy to provide a more substantial meal if required by a relative.  These can be order via the nurses on the unit who will provide you with a menu sheet.  Lunch/Dinner is £2.50; Deserts are 50p.  All dietary requirements can be met.

Our Reception Shop has a range of toiletries, seasonal gifts and cards.  We also have a selection of second hand books available to borrow, or buy, in the Reception area.

Are visitors able to park near the Hospice?

Parking is free and is usually available in the visitors’ car park.  There are designated spaces for disabled visitors. Alternatively, street parking may be found in the surrounding roads.

How can visitors find the hospice?

The Hospice is situated at 25 Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, TN38 0LB.  Car users please note that it is no longer possible to approach the Hospice from Maze Hill; access is only through Upper Maze Hill.  For more detailed information and a map of the area, please click on the link to the Contact Us page.

Can young children be brought into the Hospice?

Children of all ages are welcome as visitors.  There are toys available in the main reception.  Children, families and patients are also welcome to enjoy the gardens.  Children, however, will need to be supervised by the family.
