Julian qualified and practised as a solicitor in London, before spending 20 years working for the Lloyds Bank Group in Brazil, France and London. He then worked for 12 years with a City based insurance company, before retiring as Chief Executive in 2004. Julian remains actively involved with a number of businesses and is also a Trustee of The Butler Trust and a Vice Patron of the East Sussex Association for the Blind.  Becoming High Sheriff of East Sussex in 2004-5, he then joined the board of St Michael’s Hospice Company in May 2005, and was elected Chairman in January 2006.  Julian lives in Ticehurst.
