Having enjoyed a brief career in commercial banking with Barclays Bank, Cliff entered the City in 1969 and by 1983 had become a partner of Rowe & Pitman, one of London’s leading corporate stockbrokers. Following the 1986 merger with S.G. Warburg, he became an Executive Director in the Capital Markets division. By the time of his retirement, Warburg had become part of the U.B.S. Group. Outside the world of banking, he became involved with St. Michael’s in 2002 and spent over five years as Chairman of the St. Michael’s Hospice Development Trust, attending main board meetings as an ex-officio member. He was co-opted on to the Board as a Director in December 2008. Cliff lives in Sedlescombe.
