A New Exhibition Unveiled

Keeping you informed

A new exhibition and LCD television monitor are now on display in the St Michael's reception area.

The TV monitor will shortly be available to put out 'news'  bulletins of interest to staff, visitors and volunteers.    The exhibition will give a comprehensive overview of the 21st Anniversary Capital Appeal - the Key to the Door - campaign.  It also explains the reasons behind St Michael's plans to raise money for major building work.  The exhibition will be supplemented by related fact sheets. Called 'fast facts',these are available from the literature wall which is also in reception.

The target for Phase I of the building project due to begin later in the Autumn,  is £2.5 million. The target for Phase II is £1.9 million.

Rosie Brocklehurst, the Hospice media manager who si coordinating the appeal said:  " Lots of people have told me they wanted to know more about what is going on with the capital appeal.  This exhibition is just one of the ways we can communicate internally, and, at the same time, inform visitors. It is very impotant that our staff are fully engaged in our plans, and understand the reasons for them.  It is equally important that our visitors and our volunteers are kept in the picture.  We are particlarly grateful to local firm, Links Screens, who have not only designed and produced this exhibition but provided us with a beautiful LCD television monitor free of charge.  We will be able to use this as an information point for all kinds of other news, not just for news on how the appeal is progressing. But we can use the exibition as a backdrop for appeal events such as the handing over of cheques or a special showing of the new DVD we have produced for the appeal, " said Rosie.

"Meanwhile, the beauty of this exhibition is that it can be adapted very cheaply to include new boards for updating people on the progress of the building works," she added. "We will also be producing a 'money monitor' board so that people can follow the progress we make in raising funds from Trusts and Livery Companies, and big and small businesses.

"Staff and visitors might also like to know that there are plans to produce a second version of the exhibition in a format suitable for St Augustine's reception area, which could also be taken out to external venues when we give talks on the Key to the Door appeal."
