Smooth Sundae
St Michael's Hospiceinvites you to a very cool and groovy happening ....
April's Beatles Day 10 was the most successful Beatles Day ever, raising over £14,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. So, what have the team behind Beatles Day been doing since? They have created Smooth Sundae - a brand new music festival to honour the smoothest music from the '60's era, on Sunday June 14th at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings, in aid of St Michael's Hospice. Smooth Sundae runs from 3pm through to 10.30pm and will feature the area's top musicians, singers and dancers recreating the fab 60's sounds of Burt Bacharach, Glen Campbell, Cilla Black, Nat King Cole, Doris Day, Sacha Distel, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, Lulu, Sergio Mendes, Matt Monro, Perez, Petula Clark, the Rat Pack, Nina Simone, The Walker Brothers, Jimmy Webb, Andy Williams and a host of other cool artists from the most influential decade in musical history. Already scheduled to appear are Mike Hatchard, Phil Gill and Phil Hudson, Claire Hamill, the Hastings Stage School, Adeleine, Strangefruits, Dave Blackman, Katie Lloyd and Steve Furst with his alter-ego, the one and only Lenny Beige. The whole day promises to be a great 60's party with some of the greatest songs ever recorded. 60's dress is encouraged and the whole family is welcome. Entrance is just £8 for adults, £4 for children and just £20 for a family of two adults and up to three children aged 14 or under. Come along and enjoy a great party - and help raise funds for a great cause. For more information see www.smoothsundae.org.uk
