IPS - Information for Patients
IPS - Information for PatientsMealsInformation about meals in the IPS is available on our Catering page. GardensThe Hospice gardens offer a peaceful and quiet area where patients and families can spend time and relax. Our gardener and his team of volunteers ensure that there is always colour and something to enjoy throughout the year. For images of our gardens please click here. A new addition is a wheelchair-accessible greenhouse in which we actively encourage patients to take part in the gardening. On the top lawn you can find a Summer House for the enjoyment of you, your family and friends. A Sensory Garden offers an interesting range of scents and textures for all. SmokingThe Hospice is a smoke-free zone. Due to recent legislation, we now have a no-smoking policy throughout the Hospice. A smoking shelter is provided for use by patients and their families in the garden. We would ask you NOT to smoke anywhere else in the grounds. TVs, Radios and NewspapersThere are several radios available on request for you to use during your stay in IPS. You may also bring in your own small TV’s, radio’s etc, if you do not mind our electricians checking them (this is a health and safety stipulation). We also have a few tape players and tapes or you are welcome to bring in your own. Newspapers can be ordered and paid for on a daily or weekly basis via the ward clerk. BooksWe have a selection of second-hand books available to borrow, or buy, which can be found in the reception area. We also have a librarian who visits on a Monday and Thursday, offering a range of current fiction and a book search facility. Other services
