Quality for life - Choice in care

Schools and Youth Groups

Whether at school, scouts, guides or other youth groups; there are lots of ways young people can help fundraise for St. Michael’s Hospice. Below is a list of ideas that have proved successful in the past, for a more comprehensive list see our fundraising A-Z.content to be added.

Yellow Day
Our ever popular yellow day is an easy way for schools to get involved with fundraising for the Hospice. Children are allowed to wear something yellow to school in return for a donation of £1. For more information please see our yellow day page.

Concerts and Plays
Does your school or youth group have an annual play or carol concert? Why not hold a collection for the Hospice during the interval or on the door, or donate a percentage of the door price?

Pyjama Party
Pyjama parties are lots of fun, why not hold one and charge a small fee which can be donated to the Hospice. This could be coupled with yellow day with everyone wearing yellow pyjamas. Don’t forget your teddies!

Car-washing
Why not set up a car wash? Charge a small fee to wash cars for members of the public. Make sure the youngest volunteers have some training first to ensure no cars are damaged, then go right ahead! How about offering a windscreen washing service for people who are short on time?

Don’t forget to keep your event safe and legal. For help with applying for licences and for more information contact Julie Brett on (01424) 456380  or
