Step Back in Time 2006

A sunny summer weekend

Step Back in Time 2006 raised a record breaking sum of £32,000 for St Michael’s Hospice.  This sum included £1,000 matched funding from Hanson Aggregates, Europe

Beverley Thompson of BBC South East Today opened the show and took the time to talk to exhibitors and admire the many varied attractions.

A total of 8,220 members of the public came through the gates and enjoyed an incredibly fine weekend.  130 vintage tractors had assembled producing a memorable display and the 15 heavy horses working on the site were an additional attraction.

The crowds stopped to enjoy the many rural craft demonstrations including watercolour painting by international artist, Bob Erends, who then auctioned his pictures to generate funds for St Michael’s Hospice.

Local bands Ricochet, Family Ties and Lumpy and the Lumpettes played, adding to the relaxed, happy atmosphere.
