Pre-Employment Checks

Necessary pre-employment checks

You will be asked for certain information before starting work at the Hospice.  Below is a list of some of the checks that are carried out:

Qualifications

Qualifications relevant to the position for which you have applied will be verified at interview.  Original certificates must be provided.

Registration

Before appointing health professionals, we will check whether they are registered with the relevant body and whether any special conditions apply.

Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) Check

For all positions within the Hospice an enhanced CRB check is carried out.  The employer will then decide whether it is appropriate to employ that individual.

References and Occupational Health Checks

All positions are offered subject to 2 satisfactory references.  At least one must be from your current or most recent employer.  Positions are also offered subject to Occupational Health Checks. This is to ensure that you are fit for work and to enable us to provide any adaptations for you to do your job.

Eligibility to work in the UK

Under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006, all candidates for jobs are required to provide evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK at interview. You will also need to provide certificates for the qualifications you have listed in your application.
