Training and EducationIntroductionSt Michael’s Hospice has a long tradition of echoing Dame Cicely Saunders' commitment to education within palliative care; this commitment is found in the development and support of staff within the hospice as well as an ongoing programme aimed specifically at those who care for dying people in many other settings throughout Hastings and beyond. Educational Links & OpportunitiesAll staff who work in St Michael’s will be expected to take advantage of the educational opportunities that are available within the organisation whether they be NVQ based or focused within an academic framework such as Diploma or Degree studies. Support is available in terms of course fees and time to attend a designated course. St Michael’s enjoys links particularly with the University of Brighton, the University of Kent, Hastings College, Sussex Downs College and King’s College London. If you are seeking to develop educational links with St Michael’s Hospice from whatever setting do not hesitate to contact either Anna Third or Patrick Cunningham.
